Good Afternoon All:
I am interested in having my Gunsmith build a .22 bench gun for me. I asked him what I should be shopping for as far as parts while I wait on his list. He told me that he has the best luck and best results using Remington 40X actions. Fair enough. I own 2 rim fire 40X's (one a HB and the other a USMC gun), and I enjoy the heck out of both of them. They shoot better than I do which is not saying much, but still......
So, off I went looking for some. I did not see any other than a few complete rifles with significant prices on Gun-I-am-so-broke-er.
I was at the NRA Convention last week and I had a long conversation with several of the management types at Remington as well as their custom shop. While they are not making big promises, they say that they might have something in the fall for me. I assume that they would build up a bunch of guns to sell and any left over actions would go to Brownell's or whomever.
So to cut to the chase..... I am preparing to write them a letter in a few weeks (gives both of us a chance to recoup from the Show). I will remind them of my definite interest in an action and the fact that my smith will likely buy a few for stock. Does anyone else out here have interest in buying a 40X action for their rim fire builds? I will be glad to incorporate any interest that you folks might have, and if I find out something affirmative I will post it to the page here.
Regards,
Wally
