30 BR Improved

anybody shoot a 30 Dasher or 30 BRX or 30 BR-DX??
I know the 30BR has good reputations and will probably go that way mainly for the bbl life but will a little more speed make it any easier shooting 11`s in UBR at 200 and 300 yards??or maybe the 40* shoulder make brass last longer or make hitting that 3050 fps node with less pressure??
anybody shoot a 30 BR Improved of any flavor??

I threw together a 30BRX that I use on MS Whitetail. I shoot the 125gr bullets and the 155's as well. Mainly the 155's I'm pushing them 2770fps out of a 23" barrel. I'm running the 125's at 3100. It's not a comp gun by any means but it works great for my purpose. Furthest I have taken any animal was a Bobcat at 475yards. Maybe this info will help.

The most accurate rifle I've ever seen is a buddy's 30brx. I'd say go for it, although it does produce a little more recoil in the 13lb gun than a Br.

Wow. I never occurred to me that a 30BR could be improved upon. But once I saw that there was a 30 brx and the other versions maybe it can be!

Just take a look at how many BRX's or variants are winning in the IBS score matches. Not too many whatsoever, because there are probably less than a handful using them. The only two people that I can think of off the top of my head is Wayne France from VA, and Jerry Powers of NC. Wayne has a variant called the 30WW which if I'm not mistaken is something that Wayne & Wayne Shaw came up with, hence the WW. Also I'm pretty sure Jerry Powers from NC runs an improved 30BR and he can kick ass once in a while with it. But I'll tell you in the long run it's really hard to beat a regular 30BR. Like one of the old timers that I shoot with always says, "No reason why you should try to reinvent the wheel".

The 30brx barrel you just bought was a shooter too. :)

My friend that I shoot with for years had a panda actioned 30 BR that he bought from a high school buddy. I have never seen a gun more accurate. Between the 7 of us that shot together there was probably 10 6ppcs and some would shoot very well, there was a 22 walldog that was probably the second best but the 30BR out shot them all.

Got so many rifle projects going on TJ it's making my head spin.
The long 30BR'S are just as accurate as the parent case if you can handle additional recoil. I shot an .080 long 10 ten years ago by just running standard reamer in long. 38 gr of n_130 was my load @3130 fps. Did it offer an advantage, in IBS circles what may have missed a line with a slower bullet cut the line with a faster. Could I tell which was which, no. It is not for free recoil shooters, even the standard will beat you up. Accuracy beats velocity every time, we just need to learn to shoot the accurate rifle better, guess that means learn to read wind.

Danny. In my new cut rifle Krieger, my avg velocity was 3090 with my std load of 36 grains of N130. I have room for another half grain at least in my case which is nothing spcl. I had Dwight Scott buy the reamer for me. I shoot free recoil all the time. A 30BR case is a pussycat to me. I'm use to shooting decent recoiling hunting rifles like my old 460 WBY Mag, and my 416 Rigby so recoil to me is a non issue. In fact in about 9 hours, I have my first IBS 100 yard match of the year and I'll be shooting my new Jag 2 cartridge which I can fit about 44 grains of N133 in pushing a 120 10x approaching 3300 fps. Should be real fun at the range because the wind is suppose to be 25-35mph with gusts over 50MPH, at 36 degrees. We'll see if I can even shoot a 250 in those conditions.

Oops that was ten years ago not 30.
