I remember reading an article in PS mag a dozen or so years ago about accuracy testing difference between a 6:00/12:00 lugs vs 3:00/9:00. I can't remember the author, but I do remember him using the word "folks" in every other sentence!!! Also, I think he is a GURU in the rim fire business.

To reduce cocking can angle, it is also possible to reduce FP travel...but then, the mainspring has to be made stronger....end result is sam regarding bolt lift, but locktime is then shorter..
For a perfectly smppth cycling it would be to return on the cock-on closing of the SMLE orP14/ US 1917. I do not think anyone would seriously consider that?.
All 19th century designed military rifles I am thinking of were rear lockers 2 bolts locking horizontally. I do not think,for severajl reasons, this lugs arrangement bring anything to an action accuracy...Not a step forward, I think?

Lets see, they will talk about it for a year or so, another couple years in making and debugging a model or so. Maybe a year or two getting it into production deciding what foreign country will beat the bid from China and all the regulatory stamps. Another year or so to prove in competition it's a viable purchase that must be made.

Whoops, I forgot about inflation, better start saving now because if the Democrats get in and retain control, that should put the cost up some more, if Hillary wins that will push it to the max (and every thing else). So I guess around 6 years and twenty some thousand $$$$$ will get me one.

I like flat bottom actions, but it would add a lot of weight in a steel action. I assume most will glue this one in.

Im sure its got a flat cut on the bottom. Its designed to be glued in so it really doesnt matter
I have a revolutionary idea that will take the whole shooting industry by storm and lower the price of ALL existing actions. Someone design (or copy a Rem) a really good safe action and put a list price on it well under one thousand!
At the way prices are edging higher and higher very few of the younger generation can get into the shooting sports! Where in the heck do these companies/people think their future business is going to come from!

The stiller and pierce fit your requirements. Or just start with a remington and fix it up as you can shoot the difference. With excise taxes and insurance you wont see a custom creep below $850
