OK to neck down previusly used brass?

I have been unable to find 6.5 x 47 Lapua brass, though do have some on backorder.

I have a spare hundred rds that had been fired a few times in my 6.5 x 47 L and were then annealed. Can I neck these down for my 6-6.5 x 47 Lapua? Or does one absolutely need new brass?

Thanks guys. I have 400 rds of 6.5 x 47 ammo. A hundred of them only once fired and empty...and found 50 new brass....So I'm set. Gun should be done at the Cerakote shop this weekend.

neck them down but check neck wall thicknesses - it might be necessary to turn the necks down. Going down from 6.5 (.264) to 6 (.243) can result in thicker neck walls and turning might be necessary to allow for neck expansion within the neck portion of the chamber. 6mm bullets should be easily slid into fired 6-6.5X47 case mouths.

The 6.5X47L seems like a natural to be necked down to 6mm

When you neck down you will gain around .001 on wall thickness. You might have to turn them a little. I would also anneal them before. Matt
