NRA Membership?

Polls/caucuses do one thing. If the voters favorite candidate is lagging
behind, it causes a lot of NO VOTERS. They stay home because they dont
want to support a potential looser. These are the real whiners when its over, but they
did nothing to support the cause. This has become a country of, give me something
for no effort invested. These people havent figured out,"every vote counts". LDS

I dont think you can go by iowa caucuses. We'll see what happens when theres a voting booth open all day. The caucus by design isnt a good representation of actual results. Remember huckabee won it in 2008. Rick santorium won in 2012. Ron paul did good there too- got 3rd place! Its all about who can con voters to go to their play and listen to the speeches.

Red Rover, Red Rover send that O'Malley voter over!
So, I don't think I've ever seen anything like the Iowa Caucus. The guy who won in 2012 only got 1% in 2016.
Regardless of how the Iowa Caucus is set up the truth is, no matter how many of the GOP candidates stay in the race for the $$, it is a three-legged race today.

That'll be the Millennials (the younger generation) who support a Socialist like Bernie Sanders. Could you imagine if that Fxxking IDIOT ever made it to the White House? Those youngsters haven't a clue because Mommy and Daddy gave them everything they ever wanted and sent them to college to learn to be selfish and STUPID. It is clear to me that history just repeats itself and the enemy actually lies within. Our President sure proves that last part.

BTW, our Gun Club doesn't allow membership UNLESS you have an NRA Membership that I just renewed ahead of the membership increase. To me the NRA not only looks out for it's membership, I love needling the lefties just simply because of their admitted innorance every time one opens his/her mouth.

NRA Backer! It's so simple it's stupid ! There is no gun law that will keep crazy people from killing people. The solution is simple, bring back public hanging , public stoning, electric chair, gas chamber or any other torchering death sentence . Let the punishment fit the crime . Make an example of this with the criminal and we'll see the crime rate drop fast . When you go to prison convicted of a heinous crime they should be torchered daily , not go to prison to play patty cake and keep getting appeals and costing tax payers to keep them up and feed them! There has to be great fear for commenting a heinous crime. It's time we get real tough!!!

I have often wondered why there are only 5 million NRA members??!! I am an immigrant, not a citizen yet (5 year wait after Green card) but at the same time I'm life member with NRA. And I have made it a goal to donate money to NRA-ILA every year, no matter what. What baffles me is that so many of my die-hard American shooter friends are hesitant about becoming NRA members. I think people just won't appreciate a right they have until they've completely lost it.
Unfortunately, in the long run, 5 million is not going to be enough.

praveen,
Just where do you think the "Millenials" learned to be socialistic and expect everything be given them? Its their Mommy and Daddy many of whom probably own weapons, but want a FREE ride using the NRA to protect their rights. Its always been there in every organization where there are those who think of themselves as being "special" and deserve a "free ride." Many also take for granted the rights they enjoy. Look how many have never served in the military or are on the gravey train for the freebees in life. You never get rid of the "parasites" and many of those are the lefties who get coddled by that YOYO in the White House. You can't fix STUPID! So while the rest of us pay for our way through life, you'll always have the free riders tagging along. Also can't fix human nature that some people are just flat cheap and expect everything be handed to them on a silver platter. Those same IDIOTS will be voting for Bernie Sanders and whatever MORON he selects to be his VP should he be elected. And then all those same idiots that voted for him will be crying about their taxes going up and helping pay for others' freebees. Don'tcha just love a Democratic Socialist?

I'll probably catch hell for this but, I would love to see the tax records for all the NRA executives..If you ask me it is just another big business, pulling puppet strings.

If it was all for us and the protection of our gun rights it would be ok but with these Executives making multi million dollar salaries, uh, no thanks.

Just tired of seeing the NRA executives on all expense paid Safari's, and other expensive activities, shooting six figure rifles and shotguns, almost reminds me of Obamas three week Hawaii vacation on us.

I'm tired of the NRA calling me multiple times a day wanting MORE money. I will stay with giving my money to my State Rifle Association.

Buzzsaw... there is surely that element of wasted spending. I was quite disappointed when I-594 passed in WA and NRA essentially let it through. However, at this point, I don't really see an alternative. It essentially comes down to having enough lobbying power to make sure there are enough people in Congress to prevent random 'gun-control' bills into becoming laws at federal level. I really don't see anybody other than NRA having that clout. And that power essentially comes from a large membership. Sometimes, I get annoyed too about all the money being wasted by NRA into soliciting more money from me when I already donate but if they are doing their maths right and are able to earn more than they spend, I am okay with it.

Although I understand your point and agree with it to some extent, I also realize that there are a lot of executives that are over paid and they aren't doing a damn thing to defend my second amendment rights, so I might as well give my money to the ones that do defend my rights. Nothing is perfect and the wasted spending is too big for me to fix, so since I can't fight for my rights as well as they can, I'll keep helping them with money.

Excellent response!

TRUMP all the way or we are cooked!

I am not so sure. Take a look at the article at the link below.

http://www.infowars.com/flip-flop-donald-trump-reverses-stance-on-assault-weapons-ban/

The internet is littered with documented flip-flop's on so many issues I just can't make myself believe that what he says now that he is seriously running for public office is nothing more than pandering to a demographic that he and his elite buddies have identified as easily duped.

Just remember, when he wins 34% of the vote in a primary that means 66% of the people did not vote for him and candidates those 66% voted for seem to be able to see Trump for what he seems to really be.

And, yes, all gun owners should be members of the NRA, I have been a life member since I was in junior high school (Thanks to my father!) and I signed my son up as a life member when he was in grade school!!

JimT don't you change your mind on thing when you find out the real fax? There's a lot of thing the Republicans as well as Democrats do not read when a law is past, but when they get the chance to read whats in it they change there tune. Like Nancy Polosi said we have to pass it before we read it.

Life member here. I believe NRA is carrying water for all gun owners - not just members. ALL gun owners should off their duffs and add their names to NRA.

NRA Is not high on my list right now.
The reason is our gun club have tried for over 3 months to get them to do a range inspection. Our gun club is in trouble with country. They want us to bring the range up to NRA standards.
We have nearly 1000 members .
If NRA dont help soon we won't have a range. Larry

I doubt NRA would do that as it sets them up for problems. I used to have a very good friend who worked for Range Development and he told me they do not approve ranges.
In Glynn County, Ga the county goes around and place big mounds of dirt on the various small plots they own around the county to give residents a place to shoot.

State of South Carolina constructs ranges where folks shoot through culverts.

Nicest range I ever saw a county do is outside Cadiz, Ohio. 200 yards.

NRA member at age 12 and shot my first match same age. Life since 72, picked up Benefactor last year.
