So... the Jard page lists 1lb and 1.5lb models... and you guys are getting them running @ 2-6 *ounces*??? That seems unusual...
I'm not using them. 2oz. With Sharp Shooter Supply trigger, 4oz. with Rifle Basics.

I realize that... which is why I directly quoted someone who *did* state that they were using a Jard trigger, at those levels.

This is a great question and brings up a pet peeve of mine. Many clubs of varying disciplnes will not allow a replacement trigger on a rifle and keep it in factory class. They will allow BUTCHERING of a factory trigger, clipped springs etc., resulting in an UNSAFE TRIGGER that fires when the bolt is closed, or the safe manipulated. Allow any trigger with a working saftey , period. If you want to have a minimum trigger weight fine, but check every rifle with a dead weight when it is registered.Yes factory triggers can safely be made better but many to not know how to do it properly. If you replace the trigger won't you take yourself out of factory class?
The springs in the accu-trigger can be replaced with lighter ones and still be safe, and be "factory".
Clay is the best in Customer service. Thanks for bringing the cd up Terry.
I found it and watched it a few times. Tore the trigger down and found my trigger pull spring was collapsed. Put a new one in and it works like a champ now.. completely reliable at 4 oz's and I can get it lower with "decent" reliability. I see now my preload spring was set a bit tight before as well.
I like my crow bbq'd with salt and pepper please
Thanks again!
Also,
I talked with Clay at rifle basics and he sent me a whole new spring kit,I never mentioned that the spring was collapsed because I had in fact dropped and lost it.I asked him how much and he wouldn't take any money, took time to talk to me like I was his only customer with no rush as well. I can't say enough about his customer service!
Kudos to rifle basix.
Do to the design of the Savage I don't think any trigger drops in/on etc.
Do you mean the 7-14oz. trigger?Jard Now Makes a Drop IN Trigger assembly for TOP & Bottom Bolt release rifles, 5 Models, Best on the market

they make 5 models
6 oz,believe is lowestIs there a lighter one?
I could get mine down there but it was not reliable/safe. I settled on 4 oz.I have a Rifle Basix trigger in my model 12 that replaced the factory accu-trigger.
I didn't realize at the time that Timney had a replacement trigger that could be adjusted below 2lbs
or I might have gone that route instead.
The Rifle Basix trigger installation used a couple of springs from the factory trigger.
You have to watch videos for installation. No printed instructions came with it.
With a small amount of adjustment, I was able to get it to 8oz.
My gunsmith spent time on it when he re-barreled it.
Now it's breaking cleanly at 2 oz per the Lyman digital trigger gauge.
