How'd those 105 Amax bullets shoot from your SPS ?I have the 700 SPS 26" Varmint barrel in .243.
I have been trying all the factory loads as I have not yet gotten a reloader.
I found that I have a consistent sub M.O.A. at 100yds with the Federal PowerShok 100gr Softpoints, which used to be available at Walmart locally for $14.76!
I tried the 95gr Fusion, the Hornady 58gr V-Max, Federal PowerShok 80gr, but my barrel at 1 twist per 9.125" seems to prefer the 100gr Speer Grand Slam bullet that Federal is reported to be using in their PowerShok loads.
I have someone loading some 105 A-Max for me and will give a report as I hope that they will give me good accuracy.
Hope this helps
Mike
Rugers are a 1/9 twist. Thanks guys. I thought 1-9.25 or 9.125 but was unsure. As far as I have found, that's about as fast as anybody makes in a factory tube.
RS, my plans are to work up loads in 70, 80, and 95 grain weights. Lots of info out there that the 95 gr will work fine in the 9.125/9.250 twist. Have you found otherwise?
