Vudoo

Hey KOD, not to derail the conversation, but would you mind sharing what app you're using to watermark your photos? I'd like to do that myself.

Thanks,

Chris

As I’m close to ordering a Vudoo, I called Bighorn today to ask. If there’s something in the works, they, or at least Ray, isn’t sharing it publicly and denied there was one in the works.

With the success VGW has had with the V-22, I'd not be that surprised to see another top custom action maker bring a good .22RF repeater to the market. However, owning three V-22s (two I've fitted & chambered Krieger bbls for), I've watched with much interest as Mike Bush & the crew at VGW have gotten the V-22 to such a high level of reliability & accuracy that it'd be really interesting to see a serious attempt from another designer to bring a competitive .22RF repeater out. Competition on this level can only be good for us as shooters, but since Mike & VGW have really nailed it with the V-22, I feel it'd be kinda tough to surpass the features of the V-22. Only time will tell, I guess...

Flatlander, is there any talk of Mike Bush and company offering a single shot action? As well as his repeaters are shooting, I would think the 22 RF Benchrest crowd would be interested. Heck, I think I might like one.

***Update: Just heard back from VGW and there is indeed a single shot in the works with a target date of 2020 Shot Show. Good news, indeed.

I'm glad to here they have a target date for their new action. I'd talked to Mike a few months ago and he didn't have a release date at that time. He did confirm that there would be a left hand version available though, which makes this lefty very happy!

I don't talk with Mike very often; only once in awhile when I have a question only he can answer. Haven't asked about the BR model he mentioned online recently; I'm not into .22RF BR, so...

Not for nothing, but you you do realize, I assume, there are currently custom 40X BR clones on the market ?

Yes, Tim s, I do. I just sold a single shot 40X that I had invested a small fortune in when building a tactical rifle "trainer" in 22 LR. Had the itch for a Vudoo but bought a Hall 22 LR BR on this site a couple of weeks ago. Still got the itch for a Vudoo but prefer a single shot because I no longer need a trainer. I can load .223 for my Rem 700 repeater or my BAT A-5 single shot for not much more than the cost of Eley Tenex.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Vudoo now make a single shot adapter for there action. https://vudoogunworks.com/product/single-shot-follower-insert-aluminum/

The Stiller Lonestar has been around for years it is a modern clone of the 40-X single shot right bolt left or right port.

Maybe factory ones, but built to the same standards, I haven't seen one out shoot my 1411

I wish we were closer. I would like to shoot with ya. it would be interesting. If you ever get to Texas bring your 1411. We will shoot and then. Go fishing loser buys the beer.

I purchased the Vudoo and 18” kuhkri barrel that was in for sale section about a month ago. Absolutely pleased with the results. It will run alongside my bedded 1975 Annie 54 match all day long. But now that may have changed because I put the Annie in an f class stock and pillar bedded it. Also put a harrels tuner on it. The vudoo on bipod with its magpul 700 hunter stock will put 10 shots of center x into 5/8-3/4” pretty consistently at 100 yards in good conditions. Haven’t had time to play with Annie yet still putting tongue oil on the stock. No regrets with either. I will say that the vudoo is the smoothest action I’ve ever owned. I’ve had bat M and own 4 kelblys panda f class actions. Vudoo = butter.

What would be the competition to decide a winner? I only shoot BR there are 3 shooters with Vudoo's who I compete against and they have not won against my 1411. Vudoo's are good rifles for what they are intended to be used at, but BR, they need to work on that.
Mike Bush was suppose to come by the Club(Las Vegas) I shoot at to discuss his BR model and do some shooting, I am not sure what happen, but it was a no show?
I was interested in a BR single shot, because of what I heard about the action, I have since purchased a second Baity Falcon to build on, so no Vudoo in the future for me.

Seems like the Lapua center x is the go to round in most of these rifles.I ordered a 18” mtu from area 419.I have about 6000 rounds of the sk stuff that they sell in the red cans I will use for breakin and plinking.
