Scope recommend for 50 yd benchrest

NOT, a Bench Rest competitor or, Rifle, but I will be trying, the New Burris, 4.5x14x42 AO, side Focus, Long Range MOA, #200344 scope with, a .13 dim. fine / small, "cross hair" @ 100 yds for, my informal 50 - 100 yard Target shooting & Ammo testing off, a Bench, as, a "Combo Scope". And it will be used for, longer range, Varmint, Hunting, too ! I also ordered one of, EGW's 20 MOA "Rails" to put on, my Ruger 10-22, with, it's 20", Sporter Bbl.,.. my Newest, "Toy" ! Since, I'm already getting, Sub 1/2 inch 50 yd. groups with, Match ammo out of, this rifle with, the New, Green Mtn barrel, I just HAVE to see, how much better this, thing can shoot ! And, Trump's Check was, Burning a Hole in my Pocket !

I've used Mueller 8-32X44 target dot scopes on both my air rifles and my rimfire. A very capable scope and well worth $250. On my top gun, I use a Sightron SIII 10-50X60 fine cross hairs. It's the clearest scope of all and if you shop well, you might find one for less than $800. Another decent scope is an Aztec 5.5-25X50. Nice reticle. I have one on my CZ452 and shoot informal BR. Not quite as clear as the Sightron, but excellent none the less. Well worth $439.

I like Weaver T-36's with small dot and crosshairs, A recent purchase of a Mueller 40 power has proved to be quite adequate with the only complaint being the mushy/not positive turret adjustments. There is a local group that shoot .22 silhouettes at 75.100.125. and 150 yds from the bench and it is great fun.

I've got Sightron SIII 8-32x56 scopes on a couple of 6 Dashers set up in Shehane Tracker stocks that I shoot in BR Varmint Silhouette matches at our local club. Steel targets from 200-500m. Never really had a complaint with either of these scopes, even though one was purchased used off this forum several years ago. But I'm looking at a rifle built around the new VGW V-22S single shot BR/F-class 22RF action, and am thinking either the SIII 10-50x60 or the newer 45x45 that James has tested would be the way to go for this rifle. I'm a bit spooked by the thought of going with a fixed 45x scope because of issues with mirage, but to be honest, I've never used a scope with that much power before. I've owned a bunch of Sightron SIII scopes (mostly 6-24x50s), and never had one fail. But the thought of not being able to see well enough in heavy mirage to hold-off for wind changes spooks me a bit when it comes to the fixed 45x, as opposed to being able to dial back on power with the 10-50x60. I've got a Weaver T24 on a Winchester M52D prone rifle, and a Sightron SII 24x44 on an Anschutz 2011, and am sure I wouldn't be satisfied with either of those scopes for the new V-22S. But the main question I have is how well the ED glass of the fixed 45X Sightron would perform at 100yds on a warm & muggy day? Or would the SIII 10-50x60 be a safer bet? And then there's the SV 10-50x60 model with 34mm tube & ED glass...anyone have any experience with this scope?

A good ole br36 leupold is a good one for 22 br and like tim said the lcs is very good. Ive had a bunch of all 3 of those and prefer the 35x for 50yds. Its the clearest of the lcs to me

I have a weaver t36 which will most likely be going back on my hall rifle when my 2500x is done. Currently have a sightron 10-50×60 on it.

I have a 42x44 NightForce Competition. You can find this 1800.00 scope for about a grand. Any thought on this scope. They have been discontinued but the scope I have is the clearest of all the scope I have. Tracking is perfect. Any thoughts??

I’m using a Mueller 42X56 fine cross hair target scope and it’s just OK. I don’t have a lot of experience with BR but I’m looking for something better

I did some looking around and found a wholesaler that had Sightron SIII 45x45s in stock. Unfortunately, VGW hasn't started shipping V-22S actions yet, so I may mount this scope on an Anschutz 2011 just to get some experience with it before the V-22S I spoke for arrives... As soon as we get through wheat harvest, I should have time to do some BR shooting with this scope. All I can say for now is that I'm impressed with it.

I switched from 10-50 S-III's to that scope, I used one on my Falcon I just sold it went with the rifle.
I like the glass and most of all the 1/10 adjustment at 50yds. that is 1/20 for that little bit of vertical works great.
