Deer Hunting Bullet Choice - We've been doing it wrong all this time.

Do yourself a favor and try to read this article without laughing.

http://wildernessmastery.com/hunting/223-for-deer-hunting-ammunition.html

A few quotes:

"The aerodynamic of a shot is determined by the increasing level of the ballistic coefficient. Normally, higher calibers are considered to have the best ballistic coefficient. However, the .223 has just the perfect coefficient for hunting deer."

"Unlike most big game ammo, the 223 is not heavier in the air and they are not often unstable. The best stability is based on the weight. The next thing to consider is the bore surface, which refers to the length of the shell that dashes the bore."

"A 308 caliber will develop a needle-like wound; the same cannot be said of a 223."

"If you are shooting at 300 yards, your main challenge will be to maintain the transonic speed."

You should know that the effectiveness of a specific type of ammo depends on the reputation of the brand

Reputation of the brand? Oooookay. Learnt something.
Did this boys parents pay to get him in a college like Felicity Huffman?

Off hand I would say that the author has not done much deer hunting or maybe I should say killing of said deer and actually seeing the effects of the bullets he is talking about.
I should come out of left field and see the light.

It's a clickbait site (they get paid per pair of eyeballs that see the ads), and the piece is probably assembled by a non-native English speaker by gobbing together phrases from related articles.

The grammar needs to be good enough to not be delisted by search engines, but the content need not be meaningful. . . once you open the page, they get paid for eyeballs on the ads.

From my early teens thru my mid-thirties, I used to read everything I could on hunting, rifles, loads, bullets>>>everything! From Jack O'Connor to Jon R. Sundra to "most everyone in that era".. There were some "good" writers, however, many, if not most, were "article writers"! As you shoot and learn and learn and shoot, you come to realize who the "article writers" are, as opposed to those that actually shoot and know what they are talking about. The Gent in that article has absolutely NO IDEA what in thee hell he is talking about!
IF YOU WANT TO LEARN, stay on this site>>>period! >>>> Oh and GO SHOOT so you can take what you have "learned here" and see if it works by putting it into practice!

Now that makes sense.

The shame of it is this is the kind of info that becomes "gospel" in the internet world. Beware of what you read and believe!!!

First pic shows "target ammo"
"push more bullets further with fewer drops"????? ESL student for sure.
Second pic is 35 grain? Shoot Bambi with one of those you might get hooves and a spike for dinner while he stomps your face to mush.
I too could not finish. Only so much room for new grand ideas in my noggin.
Hahaha

He also recommended 55gr FMJ in his "Top 5 bullets for deer". Maybe we've been missing out this whole time?
