7WSM + 300WSM Need Pet Loads

Guys,

I'm working on a combined 7WSM and 300WSM Cartridge Guide. This will also include the 7mm and 30 Cal WSM necked up from 270 WSM brass,used by Vince Bottomley and Alan Warner).

I need your favorite accuracy loads. Please provide:

Bullet weight and Mfg.
Powder and load in grains
Cartridge OAL
Primer
Brass Mfg.
Velocity
Comments on function, brass life, accuracy

We are trying to cover both target and hunting uses of this cartridge, so please supply both types of loads, if you have them. In discussing a hunting load, you might want to comment on bullet performance on game.

Please post your loads in this FORUM thread or email mailbox@6mmBR.com . Please put "WSM LOAD" in the title of your email. Be sure to identify which cartridge and brass you're using--I sure don't want to have 7WSM loads mistaken for 300WSM.

2,900 fps from a 26" Kreiger 9 twist in Houston, 2,925 fps in Las Vegas at 2,200 alt.

The Load shoots great. I used it as my 600 and 1,000 yard F-Class load until I got to Las Vegas in May, and it showed signed of being a tad bit too much pressure for my likeing.

The Load shoots great. ES below 25, SD below 9. I switched to this load from the RL-25 for my 600 and 1,000 yard F-Class load after I got to Las Vegas in May, slighly slower, but less presure.

I'll post additional loads in a few days when its not as crazy.....

0.75 - 1.00 MOA
No pressure signs. Can only fit 2 neck sized cases in the M700 magazine and feeding is not always smooth, but no feeding failures.

Both liked exactly the same load

the latest in a 1:10 Hart 30" gives me 3010-3020fps

Fire forming load of 66gr 2213SC and 190 Berger's gave .250 groups consistently @ 100yds

best group to date is 5 shots 2.7" @ 750yards

1000yd 10shot best to date 9.77",only fired 4 targets @ 1000yds so far...)

Hunting Load : Barnes 175 triple shocks - 69 grains of Retumbo - fed 210 mag primers -Win. brass ....note: seems on the edge of being too fast - clean shoulder shot this yea on a whitetail and went through with minimal expansion ....3 previous deer dropped in place though

rifle is rem 700 alaskan ti 300WSM. Its favorite load is 60gr H380,168gr NosBT,Win brass and Fed215M primers.COAL is 2.860". I shot a whitetail buck @297yards and muley buck @200yards both one shot kills.The bullet totally exploded inside the whitetail his heart looked like someone cut it in half with a knife,I was unable to recover the bullet.The mule deers heart had similar results but the bullet exited the off side.I have also gotten lucky and shot 2 coyotes this year with this load one at 450yards and another at 482yards,big holes not good for pelts). At the bench this loads small grp was .298" and averaged .687" for the rest of the grps at 100 yards, velocity avg 2900fps @ 3865ft above sea level

7 WSM, 180 Berger's, Rem 9 1/2 primer,std. not magnum) 62.9grs. H4831SC. Accuracy was the same from 62.5 - 62.9 so I went with the top load. Parts are inbound for the chrono next week so I'll have hard data then.

It took about 25 rounds with the moly projectiles before the velocities settled to 3185fps with this load. Am getting some cratering of the primer otherwise no other pressure signs even up to mid 3200's! Brass is at 5th reload, was full length sized after 3rd firing.
