There are two good sources of data for the .244AI, as P. O. Ackley would call the 6mm AI. Sierra has good published data, and Jeff Milender's website, www.angelfire.com/nd/243ackleyimproved, for the .243 AI, has links that will get you to more .244 AI data. To paraphrase Mr. Ackley, you will need a good "snappy" load to get the brass to fire form properly. This means that you will be using factory loads, or factory reload equivalents. This will make sure that there is enough pressure to form the brass out properly. Any powder in the medium to medium slow burn rate would be appropriate for the .244 AI.

    Cordially,

For the 6mm Remington AI, check out these two feature articles. Both contain reloading advice and "pet loads."

I shoot varget in my 243 ackley. For forming the brass I use the max load for the 70gr bullet in hogdons manual for the standard 243, it gives good sharp angles.
