Zircon or chromite? Where to buy?

I'm looking for zircon or chromite to order for some shooting sand bags. I've heard Sinclair International has zircon for $20 for 15 lbs plus shipping... Anyone know where to get it cheaper?? Or chromite..???

I have found that the density of garnet blasting media is almost identical to zircon and that garnet is easier to get...in my case, from a blast media supplier. I made a considerable savings by asking if they had any broken bags. They did, and scooped it into a plastic bucket and shipped it. I have a lifetime supply for about what enough to fill a couple of bags would have cost from other sources, at full retail.

Search for a industrial mineral supplier in your area. I got 50lbs of Zircon for $45. Can't see paying what places like Sinclair want plus additional shipping costs.

If you have a TSC nearby they should carry Black Bull garnet sand. It comes in a 53 lb can for $28. A review says this stuff is really dusty, but using it for filling bags probably doesn't matter. And you might also find it at Home Depot.

TSC has blasting media as do any auto paint supply houses. I'm told China Fright has it but that's just speculation on my part.
