Zeiss Conquest Fixed 4 Power vs. Weaver K4

I have a Zeiss Conquest Fixed 4 power scope with a standard Z-Plex reticle and I'm wondering if anyone has ever compared it to a Weaver K4 fixed power scope?

I mounted the Zeiss on an AR but it sat in the safe for the entire time so I took it off and now it is just sitting in the box. I'm thinking of putting it or a Weaver K4 on a Weatherby 375 H&H.

The Zeiss is an excellent scope, made in The USA, but I've heard good things about the Weaver K4 as well for its ruggedness.

Considering selling the Zeiss and buying a Weaver if they are that much more rugged. The 375H&H has some recoil, though not as stout as I would have thought. But don't want to ruin a scope.

You might want to consider an IOR. The IOR 4x that I have is very impressive and the field of view specs beat most 3x scopes. They are said to be very tough, I’m not sure because mine hasn’t been abused. The negative would be the 3.5” eye relief, compared to some scopes 4” specification.

Weavers are OK, a good deal but I would consider service, Bushnell now services Weaver and requires pre-authorization for repair. I am continually amazed at Weaver optical quality considering the low cost. I think a Weaver K4 would go for about $150 or less. Another thing to consider would be scope length and available tube length for mounting on a long action rifle. Extension rings or bases would probably be needed. A very nice scope for little $$.
