"You can no longer buy guns at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Maine"

Dick's is for soccer moms. And Bass Pro is quickly hdg that direction. Bass Pro recently opened a mega store in Cincinnati. They shut a Cabelas and old Bass pro upon opening the new store. The appearance is nice but they apparently aren't displaying ARs and you have to ask if they have powder in stock as they say they can only put a Ltd supply out at a time. The new mega store gives me the vibe of nothing specialty. Box store junk.
Their fishing dept sucks and I fished bass tourneys for 20 years. What a let down for a huge new store.

Cabelas is worthless and has been for a while. Unless you need to buy a pink camo outfit for your wife. It’s the Walmart for wannabe outdoorsmen and rich urban posers.

Scheels in Springfield IL is pretty sweet. hour and 20 minutes from my location. Scheels stocks a good to a great amount of reloading gear and components. pricing is fair. They have a ton of sporting goods, Have the high end trap guns, can handle most arms other than the AR and hand guns without asking anyone. Dillon gear is on the shelves. Optics are plentiful.
Its a good place and has been there several years now.

Hoping you get the same thing there. Far better than the BP/Cabela's
 
Hope Dicks shareholders are happy in a few years with the revenue they generate from Stanley cups and golf clubs. That’s their business model, it sucks, but they did it to themselves.

Got zero dog in this fight but Dicks stock is up 400% in the last 4 years.
Truth be told, they’re not particularly anti-gun, margins on gun business is mediocre, plus all the media BS. They make more money selling Nike’s in 30 days than about a year of gun sales. The world as it is, everybody wants to be a mega softgoods and shoe vendor.

Let them sell Nike's! I won't buy anything from them and hopefully nobody else will either, unless they're in the Nike trade!

Their stock could be up but I will NOT support them, simply because of their stance on guns. I will probably also die starving and broke. So be it!

I remember when Dicks had gun adds in their flyer in local newspaper. havnet been in one in years. i dont think they sell guns around here and im not going in to find out.
 
Used to go into Dick's in Watertown, NY, that is until they started their shenanigans about 10 or so years ago.

They were overpriced back then.

Who cares about them? Not me nor my NY friends.
