Yotes are moving

After around 6-10 inches of rain in the metro east of Saint Louis, the coyotes are moving and pairing up.
I lip squeaked one in @ 35 yards, but took off before I could shot.
Decided to use fox pro sounds I have recorded on my iPhone and try that. Bluejay distress did the trick. Spined him @ 44 yards. The 88 berger @ 3100 fps out of my 243 kimber made too big of hole to sell.
While walking away spotted another trotting. Got a shot off through some brush/ no hit. Spotted him again w/mate at 500 yards/no shot. Cloudy here today, after a storm seems to be working.
Going to range now to confirm 200 yard zero and chrono my BAR w/135 matchkings in 270 win. Going to give her a try after 4 1/2 years at the gunsmith. (took it to another, had it done in 4 1/2 weeks). Time to heat her up and see what she can do. Cheers!

Fun to hear. Went out last night for the first time this year. Called one in and got it. On the way out the door I decided to grab my 22-250AI and the 65 gr. Sierra SP I had loaded up for my daughter's first doe tag. Should've grabbed my 22BR and the 52 gr. Berger Varmint bullets I normally use. Those 65 gr. Sierras did a number on that coyote. The 52 gr. Bergers seldom ever exit and the yote is dead before it hits the ground.

Pretty fun hunt. I called for at least 45 minutes before I saw her come over a hill behind me. Must've taken a lot of coaxing to get her to come in or she came from a heck of a long ways off.

P/N 22309. I still have 3 boxes of these left. Haven't paid any attention if Berger still makes this bullet. Hopefully they do.

You know, I don't think I've ever chronographed these. I worked up a load and ended up with 29.2 gr. of Benchmark and CCI BR-4 primers. More than likely this is far from peak velocity. They shoot great and perform even better so I left well enough alone. Sorry I don't have any velocity numbers for you.

Got my second one in two days this am @115 yards with the BAR in 270 win with 135 sierra matchings. Quartering away from me and hit a little further back which produced a spinner, took 2 more shot to bring him down. One of the shots made a big hole in the rear leg/hip area. It has a little mange, so I dug a hole and buried it to try to stop the spread.
