Yes folks it’s that time again,Time for another barrel on my 6.5x284 Norma I was happy to say I ordered from Stockys and it was at my house within three days my gunsmith should get me done pretty quickly two weeks or less I’m hoping

This is a picture of the chamber it shot pretty good out to about 600 yards beyond that things got wild

This one was close to 1600 rounds probably should’ve replaced it about 1400

I am with you. Your targets will tell you when it's time. I think more guys worry about what it looks like than what it does.I find myself using the Bore scope less and less.It gets your focus off what counts. Results.

I use my borescopes after every cleaning just to see what’s going on barrels can look bad and shoot good people just freak out when it doesn’t look like a brand new barrel does

Get it ordered you don’t have to have it chambered until you’re ready but it’s nice to have it before you decide to do it

I had a 300 Jarrett that I keep making excuses for when I finally looked at it through a borescope it had fire cracking half way to the muzzle. It should have been replaced a year ago, and all the shooting I had done was a waste of bullets and powder. use your borescope but don't let it sour you an a gun that is still shooting good. If I had a borescope then, I would have had a barrel on order and a trip to somebodies lathe on the books or maybe a barrel with one of those nuts.

Keep your eye on their ready to go inventory. Last barrel I ordered from them I found after watching their inventory for acout 3 weeks, bingo, up popped what I wanted, called them, had it in 4 days instead of 6 mo or more.

Did you note this on multiple range trips out past 600? The other day when we were out it didn't seem like much wind but it was pushing me sideways about 4 feet at 1250. Not a good day for groups.

Best to order now, than wait for later.
@WSMNUT Old Dominion Custom Rifles is going to rebarrel my 6.5 after season.
She's still shooting good but I know its getting long in the tooth, and I'm tired of mining copper after every range session.

Past 600 or 750 my groups have been pretty bad lately that’s why I bought the new barrel

is that a carbon fiber?

Yes it is a carbon fiber proof Sendero 1 in 8 twist 26 inches long that’s how the rifle was first set up and I keep it the same way
