I have one of these with a decelerator (1”) installed…takes the sting out!A Browning Lever Action in .358. Beautiful wood, real nice little rifle. I bought it with a box of ammo included. 18 rounds in the box. I shot it twice, sold it with the box of ammo with 16 rounds remaining. Thing kicked like a mule.
I live in grizzly country. I have a pair of 329's I always have one with me. I bought one to shoot and the other to pack, I have lots of rounds through one and lots of miles packing the other. We can trade out. I'll shoot your 416 Rigby while you shoot my little SW329 with some 300 grain magnum loads. It weighs about 30 ounces fully loaded.![]()
Yeah these are the worse.Winchester M70 Featherlite in 257 Roberts, beautiful fleur-de lis checkering. Shot minute of barn door. Had trouble sizing reloads, I think the barrel was threaded crooked, Factory said it was fine. One of the few I don't miss.
WELL PUT SIR.sure are some interesting comments.WOW
I bet the guy who sold his nylon 66 wishes he still had it.he could buy a really nice rifle on trade now.lol
That's something that will stay in my family till someone gets stupid.to many trapping and canoeing memories there.
Some of y'all's stories reminds me of my bro in law shooting his 300 winmag weatherby off my tailgate.sent a vibration through my entire truck every round he fired.
He was 155lbs soaking wet.he was going bald I told him it knocked his hair off....
He sold it soon after.
My 300 winny is around 13lbs without scope with heavy barrel and a brake.its not bad at all
I tell you though 12 ga 3" turkey loads are pretty brutal shooting off bench patterning for turkey .first round I looked at my stock I thought it buckled/broke...
My 338/06 is barely more than 308 even though it's a stout round.
I don't have any care for much anything else.
If I can't kill it with 308 or 338-06 I'm on wrong continent for this white boy.
My 300 winny is a elr type rig.target rifle
Never regretted buying anything.I just trade up
FUNNY GUYI said one speal but I gotta mention 3.5 turkey loads in anything. Kill on one end, cripple on the other. Doug
When you gotta pay up, you cover the nut. Well done sir. MIKE IN CT DAMIT870 12g,rifled brrl slug gun. Guy owed me money is how it came here.
So,awhile passes and I hadn't even thought about until; My oldest son is talkin chit with his younger bros about how badass he was(we were all laughing).... listening I'm starting to think about the kick from this 870. "Stay right here",going to get it and some jacked up factory slugs should settle this.
I load it up throw a target out behind the shop where we were all sitting. He shoots a mag full and turns with this big chit eating grin and goes,"Dang, that's the coolest gun I've ever fired!!".
Gave it to him on the spot.
I COULDNT SAY IT BETTER SIR. MIKE IN CTSharps 45-120, had a lot of fun with it, wasn't bad with a download. Fouling was an issue. I've seen a lot of fence posts with better wood..... Life's to short to shoot an ugly gun!!
EXCELLANT report sir, I like my .375 caliber elephant rifle, the ouch n ouch magnum, plenty. Mike in ct damitthe 505 Gibbs I had rebarreled to my silly 550 Gibbs wildcat. It is a great Elephant killer, but hurts too much to shoot. After three, I came to the conclusion that I no longer hate Elephants that much.
IdJeffP here wanted it a lot more than I did; so it now lives at his house...
