XP100 Trigger Balance Weight

I have looked, tinkered and fiddled with the trigger balance assemble.

I can not see what its purpose is. The only thing that makes sense to me is: it is counter weight that would hold the trigger group from moving if the gun was dropped.

I am putting on a custom stock and this feature will be disabled.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

I'm assuming you are talking about a centergrip XP ? The purpose of the counter weight is what you stated. Remington advised not removing the counter weight because of safety concerns if dropped or bumped. I know many fellows who remove the weight with no ill effects. Some say that there is a definite improvement in the trigger once removed. Rupe
