XP100 - Shows Us Your Pistol

“Remember the days of the Remington Custom shop?”

Yes, yes i do. However both of mine were from secondary market. I found the 7-08 in a Gunshop in Riverton. I actually contacted SEB, to get his input (while I had the 4473 in hand). His reply was something like, ‘if you don’t, I will’ ‘enuff said. I don’t envision the Rem CS doing anything in the near future, if it even still exists.

Yes a 7-08 CS XP would have been too tempting

Not thinking it would/could ever happen BUT, could you imagine Remington making another run of XP 100's??? Not enough sales to make it real "$$$$ wise" but the thought makes a heart go pitty pat. :)Remember the days of the Remington Custom shop? And if we're going that far, why not an XP100 with a "left hand" option??? Right hand controls the stock/grip and you work the bolt with your "free" left hand?:D:D:D A left hand stock for the lefties? Lots of folks into "buying and not building". Doesn't cost anything to dream. ;)
Wonder how long a waiting list would be?
I think the cost might deter some folks, buying or building. I couldn’t really justify buying parts at today’s prices. That said, I realized I had a blank that wouldn’t work for a rifle stock, but would for a pistol. Had a single shot action. Got a used 6br Remage barrel. Got screws, trigger guard, recoil lugs. And time. The only thing I don’t have is a barrel nut wrench. Yet…

Remember when Remington was selling bare actions at Buds guns? The SS 700 single shot solid bottom actions were 345 bucks for a while. Wish I would have bought at least one more.
A run of new XP's would be nice. The new TC is sell the heck out of their single shots.

Glad I bought a couple, one is definitely going to be in a McMillan rear grip that was inletted for a 700.

How does the Cold Shot scope mount work out for you? I had one years ago on a .257 air rifle and it did ok. When I sold the rifle the cold shot went with it.
Worked ok after having to lock it down so it wouldn't move, not the way it's suppose to work. It was a first gen so it may have been approved on since then but there's better adjustable mounts out there IMO. I have a ERA-TEC that works great.

It shot well when Walt made good bullets then they turned to crap and why rifle was made into a switch barrel with 1-9 shooting 30 golds. I know some guys messed around with different twist rates to get bullet to work a little but walt was only source for them so I just gave up chasing 37 gr. dream. LOL
