Mount it in a "left hand laminated thumb hole stock". You're only gunna point it anyway.I wish they would have made the XP on a left hand action so you didn't have to switch hands to cock it
I have never had this problem. Thinking your shooting with the wrong hand.Hey Melvin, Whatcha gonna do with that XP? I wish they would have made the XP on a left hand action so you didn't have to switch hands to cock it. They are great guns to shoot and the 7BR has a lot of potential. They were originally for shooting silhouettes, I'm talking about the 7mmBR specifically. Good luck with your new handgun.
I think they referred to it as the Hunter model. I have seen one in .223 with the factory laminated stock and the matte finish.
Yes, it came with dies and brassMelvin, do you have dies?
Yes, I’ve been shooting IHMSA since 1981. It becomes second nature to reach across with your left hand to work the bolt.Right bolt was the preferred bolt for shooting in the Creedmoor position for right handed shooters when I shot IHMSA.
Yep! I only shot it for six years. Had three XPs. Wish I had kept one.Yes, I’ve been shooting IHMSA since 1981. It becomes second nature to reach across with your left hand to work the bolt.
I have had left bolt Rampros, and the bolt will dig into your thigh while shooting Creedmoor.
Or buy a Savage Striker. It’s a LBRP and you can keep your right hand stationary and work the bolt with your left hand.Mount it in a "left hand laminated thumb hole stock". You're only gunna point it anyway.Free right hand works the bolt and feeds the ammo. And if your right handed, you'll have to switch hands to work the bolt anyway.
Try it, you might like it.
Tried that going the other way. Lefty action mounted on a right hand thumbhole BR style stock. Just plugged and re cut the bolt handle cut in the stock. "Right hand stays in the thumbhole" for stock control while your free left hand works the bolt and feeds the ammo.
LOVE IT, only problem? Hard to go back to a right hand action. Right hand still has to come off the stock to work the bolt.![]()
.
Melvin, Is that a rifle scope on your pistol? I have a 3-9 on mine right now and thinking about a 6-18 just until hunting season.
It’s a Burris 2.5x 7 pistol scope.Melvin, Is that a rifle scope on your pistol? I have a 3-9 on mine right now and thinking about a 6-18 just until hunting season.
They did. Several sold on Gunbroker a few weeks ago, first I ever knew of any,Hey Melvin, Whatcha gonna do with that XP?
