Xp-100

[misfire]

Recently saw an XP 100 in 35 Remington on this forum for sale. Curious what it would cost me to have one rebarreled to 22-250. Not trying to pin anybody down just looking for a ballpark figure. I would need a new Barrel and all machine work throated for 55 to 60 grain bullets.

Price a barrel then add same for cost of a rifle job.

XP barrels are usually not that much, if any cheaper than a 26” blank. If you can go full bull, then get a 30” or pay a bit more and go as long as possible will at least give you two barrels of decent length.

Probably in the 500 to600 dollar range for a top of the line barrel.

Don't forget opening bolt face 35 rem is around .015 smaller than a 22-250

With that dimension, would a ppc work w no alteration?

maybe , probably the .308 based extractor did pretty good this would be better but not perfect, I always wondered why remington didn't base the br off this based case to really give the ppc a run????

I bought one. Built it custom... same price as a custom rifle $3000. Start to finish donor action, replacement bolt, 2 barrels, stock. Gundmith..

I think the 35 rem bolt in the xp100 has a regular 308 bf and the 22-250 should work fine. I bought an inexpensive 22-250 takeoff and stuck it on my XP100. Luckily, headspaced just fine. Man, that was loud.

Hart Barrels offers XP 100 barrel lengths. Rebarreled mine to 6BR. Give them a call, great guys to deal with.

To add to your choices Lilja also offer short barrel blanks for XP's.

I’d go with a Lilja XP barrel from @Hoodoo
He sent me my barrel for my XP build.
@boltfluter fluted the bolt and barrel for me
I chambered it on my PM1236T in 6MM Creedmoor
Here’s a picture of mine on a recent doe hunt.
My barrel is an XP8 contour cut to 14”
I have that Leupold scope for sale too if you’re needing one it’s a VX3 2.5-8x32 handgun scope.
Barrels are roughly $320-375 any MFG
Chambering is going to be a
Between $250-350 depending on who’s doing the work
Open the BF up and add Sako Extractor is going to be around $150-200
