Again, my barrel is a stock Savage, 26" - 9 twist BVSS

I have heard XBR takes about 1.0 grains less powder vs Varget or RL15.

I am pursuing XBR as many are stating they are having good luck with it!

I want to try some 53gr Vmax as well!

I have a load for 52 Berger Flat Based, it drills them with RL15!

I developed these loads using the OCW method but @ 200+ yards. @ 100 all shots with all match bullets looked good but farther out only one bullet really shines. My rifles are 1-9 , twist Savages and 1-8,,1-9 twist DPMS..

53 V-max (290 bc)
25.5 8208 (Max!) work up to it.
Lapua or Nosler Brass trimmed 1.750
CCI450's or 7 1/2's
2.257 col

Groups better than Sierra 52 match, Hornady 52 match, Berger 52 match.
Very accurate to 400 yards.

as one said already work up to a bock max of 23.8 or 24.0gn's with that powder.I have a 5R in 223 and us this powder and bullet combo.the twist in my rifel is the same, but the length is 2" shorter.my load came in at 24.0 gn useing a 69gn NCC.my COAL is at 2.290 in Lapua brass.this load shoots really good for me.it runs in at around 3000fps.

just work up its a max load.but think you will be OK since you have two more inches than me with your barrel.your FPS will be higher than mine all so.or it should at lteast be a little higher.

Any ideas on the 69smk's . . . .
My accuracy load in my AR-15 NM rifle with 69 smk is 23.5 grains of 8208, and with no signs of pressure. You should be able to hot it up a little more in your bolt gun. My experience with this powder is that it generally does the best at the upper limits with most calibers that I use it in.
