X-Treme FMJ Bullets (.224)

Purchased a box of 500 pieces of X-Treme 55gn FMJ .223 bullets. Just pulled a sample out to see how close they are in dimension. See attachment. Measured with my Mitutoyo 500-321 calipers. They readout in .0005 so that is what i recorded, trying to use same pressure while measuring them to get as good as they will measure. My scale reads out to the 0.02 grain so that is what i measured as well. (checked it with the 10 Gram calibration weight at start and finish, within 0.04 grain both times)

Attachments

Have not loaded any yet. Just got them, wanted to see how they were as far as consistency. They were only $45 for 500 i think
I will load some and post results, my guess, they will be better than me.

Flat base or boatail? Lead exposed on the base?

I've never had acceptable accuracy with FMJ military bullets in my Compass Lake built Krieger barreled upper, can always outshoot them with hollowpoint Sierra MatchKings, like the 69 gr. #1380's. But who knows, maybe they will be fine. Shoot them for group, then give us a report on your results.

p.s.: Tried to download your attachment. Adobe would not co-operate.

I have some of these bullets the lead is exposed at the base and have try about 6 different powders and primers combo and have found 3 different combos that have shot 1 moa out to 200 yards out of a ar15. For the price there OK

These are all I shoot now. I switched from Honady to these a while back for my plinking and never looked back. Great company and great bullet.
