X Caliber Barrels ?

Has any one had any experience with X Caliber barrels, thinking about changing the barrel on my Savage 110 to 308 for some 600 yd steel banging.

My experience with X-Caliber Barrels has been very promising. I have purchased barrels in 6.5, 7mm and 30 Caliber barrels and took advantage of their 30% off Black Friday to Cyber Monday sale
and purchased a few more. Buy with confidence.

I tried one years ago. It was finished very nice inside and it shot lights out. I felt like it burned the throat prematurely though, it was just a 223. I don't think I put 250 rounds thru it.

What? I don't see how that is even possible outside of the barrel being made of aluminum.
Make no mistake, depending on several factors {ambient temp, number of rounds in proximity, caliber and velocity} you can shoot the throat completely out of a barrel in way less time/rounds. I guess I should add that I have a borescope, so I am not guessing.
Understand, "burned the throat prematurely" and "wiped to hell out" is two very different things. The edge of the throat in this barrel is starting to burn, it still shoots and I haven't set it back yet. When, and it will, accuracy falls off then I'll set it back and re-chamber. It shoots too good not to, but it burned way too soon and I did not abuse the rifle. And the 223 is not a noted barrel burner or the Army wouldn't use it.

Edit: for the record, the load is 64 grain Berger and 24.0 grains of N140. Definitely not "hot" by any standard. It's a 1-in-9 twist.

Bought one for my 22 Creedmoor build using a 10FP action. During a velocity ladder after break in it put 5 rounds, all different charge weights, into one ragged hole @ 100yds.

Fast shipping and good customer service. I use them on some builds and have been happy for the price.

I was going to order one during the sale that just ended.... 30% off, i delayed and missed out. Have one on a rifle i purchased in 25-300wsm, shoots really well.

HURRY HURRY,Just received email that due to some sort of time glitch, X-Caliber was extending their Black Friday Cyber Monday sale until y=tomorrow morning.
HURRY HURRY
Best Regards,
Robert

They seem to have big sales all the time. I got mine for 35% off a few months ago.

It's a stainless 31" light varmint Savage Pre-fit, 1 in 8" twist, 7mm with 5R rifling and a 284 Winchester chamber. It also has muzzle threads and a thread protector.

I don't know how it shoots yet but it looks nice. The purchase experience was nice too and the stated lead time was accurate.

I would skip the thread protector next time. It's not a match in length or diameter, I already have thread protectors that will do that.

With X Cal. I have two chamber choices for a 308, 308 and 7.62x51 NATO. With Criterion I have 4 different chamberings , 308, 308 Palma, M118 LR, and 308 F-TR and a 10 to 16 week wait,
As others have said " The master trigger linkage" AKA nut behind the trigger, makes the most difference. Guess I need to show the different reamer print out to my gun smith and see if I'm reading them correct.

Got 1 in 204 ruger,TOOLING,marks in grooves 3/8" from end of barrel,Dent in ftont of threads,Covered up by Silver Colored,Sticker,Should Not Have Left x-caliber

Out of six that I have, two were defective, it looked like some sort of liquid had been left in the bore and caused some corrosion. Since I could not polish it out, they were sent back to be replaced. Pita., but that's why you need to inspect every inch before hand. You know the old saying, "you get what you pay for".
