Lloyd - thanks for the feedback. I think you are right. My biggest problem with the Giraud and the Gracey is trying to adjust it for each new caliber....something that will get better with time...it doesn’t appear there is much response which says a lot....there is another video with a unit combined with a motor like Giraud
Yup... With a split lock ring on the caseholder I can set the depth of cut in under 5 minutes, lock it down and next time I trim that chambering I can swap out cutter/holder in well under 5 minutes. As mentioned previously. Especially since money is not the isue. Buy yourself separate cutter heads, and use a proper lock ring to set every case holder once and for all. Have a seaparate one for each chambering and the adjustments are a one time deal. No more fiddling around, quick and easy to change between calibers.
Well then it would be a no brainer for me. The Giraud is seldom, ever seen for sale used, which speaks volumes in itself. Secondly, the Giraud is several hundred dollars cheaper. They offer a unit that is powered...$739.
Yes. Lock rings (Hornady, RCBS, Redding.. anything with a set screw), and die shims make the Giraud super fast to swap over and adjust. To be clear, you are talking about the Giraud?
