I had some time this past month so played around with improving the meplat trimmer on my Giraud trimmer. As most know that have one the Giraud trimmer is great unit. However, I was not getting really consistent results trimming meplats. Also if much pressure was applied the bullet stuck in the soft seat a bit. I made a new insert to fit in the original holder. In the bottom I made a brass seat with the corner of the hole broke for the bullet to seat in. Then I added a bushing with the ID slightly larger than the bullet to help keep it aligned and supported. This has worked very well. Most are within 0.0005" with a few out around 0.001". They do not stick so are easy to pull back out. It also seems to be a cleaner cut - less of a bur/ridge near the cut. You can feed them through nearly as fast as trimming brass. I also added a PMA micro adjuster. This works great for trimming different groupings of bullets.
