WW WLR primers, green stuff al over anvil??

Just found 5 boxes (100ea) of WW large rifle primers standard and bought them, hard to find primers around here.

Well I get home and check them and see green stuff (copersulfate??)on the anvil side, It looks like its leaching out from the inside. I checked whats left of old ww primers and they dont have this green stuff sloppy looking on the back of the primers. My CCI 200s are clean too.
These just look funny with this green crap all on the back side. Some are worst than others and some look fine with the green still under the anvil and not leaching all over it.

Is this normal for newer lots of WW primers?

I've used a lot of the WLR primers, and I've not seen this before. I am wondering if the primers had gotten wet or have been overheated in a garage or outdoor room.

I would prime just empty cases and see if they fire "normally" in your firearm. No powder or bullet should be used.

First ive seen of the green stain all over the back of ww primers too.

I primed a empty case with one of the worst looking ones and it fired in a rifle ok.

Got a bunch of responses on another forum with no show of concern ... ???

gsp7: They are my "standard" primer for the 308, loaded with Varget, and are my favorite. Yes, mine also have the spillover "green" on the anvils. New, current production lot# BHL333G/ excellent primers: cannot tell any difference in side-by-side comparisons with Federal 210M, and cheaper too.

I bought 2000 WLR primers last January. They are green on the anvil side, I just assumed it was a sealing lacquer or varnish, that's what it looks like. Under a magnifier, it's obvious that it was applied from the outside and not leaking from the inside. I've used about 350 so far with no issues. I don't think you have a problem, just shoot them suckers! 8)
