Any idea what caused that slight discoloration on the action? Cleaning solvent that didn't wipe off yet?

The discoloration on the action is a film of oil, I wiped it off and the finish is fine.
Yes, my friend used it for lever silhouette competition. He has switched to Benchrest ARA & ARA Factory matches. We have sold his pistol caliber and rifle caliber rifles. The Marlin is the last to sell.
