WTC vs Neil Jones sizer

Does anybody out there use or have both a Warner and Jones sizing die and have a preference. If so why and what has your experience been?

I have had both in the past but have neither now. I would still be using the wtc if i was still shooting that caliber because it actually worked. You cant go wrong with the wtc if you want the very best and have a press that can handle it. If you want to save alot of money and get one that will never let you down just get a whidden made from your brass.

Ed: I would agree with Dusty, I have never had either of the dies you are asking about but fire a couple cases 3 times in your chamber without sizing them and send to Whidden. That is the easy button if you plan on using the same chamber going forward.

I have both dies in 375 cheytac. They are both excellent and will do the job required. The WTC die is quite simply a masterpiece. Tolerances are exceptional and the fit and finish are also exceptional. Screwing the die in or out is so smooth it has to be experienced. However, you will pay a considerable premium to achieve such quality. The NJ die is also very very good. To be fair, I have not noticed a difference in the end result but maybe that is more a reflection of me than the equipment. The bottom line: you can't go wrong either way, it just depends on your budget and your expectations for your hard earned money.

Hi Morgan,
I am using a 6 Dasher with a chamber cut by Doan. I am also getting the same reamer from PTG as I will have a Lathe again this summer. Just looking at getting the best sizing dies and skipping all the BS up front. Hope all is well with you.

For a straight dasher, I think I would just send your fired brass to Harrels and have them match it with one of their off the shelf dies. They have 1,2,3,4 that size differently at different locations from what I hear. Could be even faster and easier.

I have a WTC die with inserts for three different chamberings and a couple of Whiddens and some off the shelf Redding, Forster and RCBS. The WTC is like a Mazak, the Whidden like a Haas, and the others like a well made Taiwanese manual mill. For precision case sizing they all get the job done if they are a corresponding fit to your chamber. The custom dies based off your fired/unsized brass will accomplish this if done properly regardless of the manufacturer. WTC and Whidden (my experience), Neil Jones and Harrel(from others experience) will do it correctly.

I have dozens of dies and several different custom dies. With out a doubt Harrell’s dies Wins hand down in my loading experience. Just holding it in my hand the first time...I knew I had quality. It is my favorite die in 6.5x47L. They only make benchrest caliber dies...if they made all the other calibers, they would sell like crazy! Like said above, they told me to send them several pieces of 3 times fired brass with no fl sizing in between...
