WTB vextronix terrapin Range finder

Hello shooters

I'm going back to run my old sniper section heading to the Middle East again. I'm looking for s good range finder.
Want to find a terrapin range finder.

Vextronix vectors
But National Guard gives them to the wrong folks in Ohio
Our section dosent have LRFs
figure that one out

Thats sad. You should have what you need no matter the cost. I let a buddy borrow a ka bar and sold him a glock cause he said they didnt get those type things issued. That was back in iraq i bet its even worse now

You just have to keep watching on all the sites.. Longrange hunting would be another place. They don't stay around long because all the guys that thought the price might come down waited. They just are in demand. Matt

might wanna review the threads on vectronix on snipers hide before buying one. if it breaks or starts to have issues with the display vectronix wont fix it. from what i have read folks are unloading them before they have issues for this reason. there are a few threads with folks trying to get them repaired under warranty and getting major runarounds asking for 4 or 500 bucks to 'evaluate' the unit and folks sending them off to never getting a reply from the manufacturer.

these things were hot a year or so back because vectronix was getting out of the civilian market and would no longer manufacturer the terrapin. two or three years ago, somebody had a case of the true milspec units (forget which version) and was selling them for around 10k or more. ive often wondered how those folks fared if their unit broke..

Im sure every brand has problems. Ive never seen a rangefinder as tuff as a terrapin. If mine goes out ill be sad and wonder how much longer it lasted than a lesser one would have and ill be hat in hand trying to find another just like it

I agree with Dusty. If It breaks I believe there are other people that can fix them. They couldn't do the Russian Lasers' because they were non eye safe. Also the instructions were in Russian and so were the parts. Matt

i think you guys are nuts. i had a terrapin and it was great, and i currently use a PLRF10C and love it. i bought a silencerco radius for $999 and it does everything the terrapin does and more. i can range targets SO much faster with the radius, though granted, i do have to point a gun or spotting scope at them, but the distances i get are within a yard of what the PLRF10c says every time, and it takes a quarter of the time. i don't own the sig yet, but am hearing an awful lot of good stuff about it. so why would someone pay $2000+ for used electronics that can and do break (i know several who have sent them in for service) when they can get something that is just as good and comes with a warranty for under half the price, or under 1/4 of the price?
