If all else fails, you can do as I did and build one off a T3 action of any calibre with the 308 bolt face. A burnt barrel 22-250 in my case, just wanted the action.
I had a 1:10 x 22” barrel with a “Sendero” profile made up and used a reamer from JGS. Mounted up in a MDT field stock. Easy to carry horse power with some 200gr Speer Hot-Core. Just ideal for 300yd heavy brush deer and pigs. Easy brass by just necking up 308 brass. I have an old Savage medium action with a 20” Shaw varmint barrel. Shoots 160 Barnes in little holes

I have a Savage precision rifle I think I am also going to do a barrel swap on but I think I am going Schilen SS this time on it.

I love the 338 Fed. Also have a 338-06 in a long Savage action.
