WTB Southbend Heavy 10

My manual called for i$o 68 Hyd oil in the head stock and gearbox. iso 32 in the apron. What is The Right Stuff?
That is the right stuff. What I use is Mobil DTE in 68 and 32 which is 20 wt for headstock and 10 wt for apron. And it's a circulating oil (Turbine Oil) Not Hydraulic oil, Turbine oils have EP additive packages. There is a lot of pressure on the bearings when you are taking a hefty cut.

I heard the key is to NOT have detergents in the oil, as the crud will not stay suspended and get run through the wrong places like bearings and such. It will sink to the bottom of the sump.
If you really want some rabid "Oil Wars" head over to KTMTALK forum and tell them it is Yamalube ONLY for you, then get some popcorn...

Not lookin for an "OIL WAR" I just don't understand people trying to save a few bucks by putting Tractor supply hydraulic oil in their expensive machine that calls for Circulating oil. Makes no sense to me.

Oil wars are for entertainment purposes ONLY!! You would not believe the shit motorcycle riders go through!
I used to run Delo in my KTM 300 gearbox. 1/10th the price of the boutique oils that others couldn't do without. Silkolene at Chanel No 5 pricing.
