Go look at the SA H&S precision stocks that PTG has for 250$. The H&S stocks have an all aluminum mini chassis built into them, no bedding needed.

I have an used HS Precision stock I've been thinking about selling. It's a for a short action Remington 700, inletted for a BDL floor plate, varmint barrel channel. Someone prepped the recoil lug area for bedding, but never did it. It's the dark gray with light gray webbing. A couple wear marks, but nothing major. Marked Remington on the butt pad I think.
