WTB-Looking for in stock Premium 6x45mm AR barrel

Anyone know if anybody stocks premium such as a Krieger AR barrel chambered in 6x45? Not looking for a cheapy that might shoot, wanting something I know is better than a 50/50 chance of sub moa for a special setup. Had read that Les Baer was discontinuing the 6x45 and see they have barrels available. However, for $500+ I want to know what brand for sure I am getting and not a guess, really want a Krieger or Bartlein at least 20" and thinking maybe up to 24"??? Fellow here just acquired a complete Baer rifle and I made/loaded him some rds but he hasn't had time to shoot it much. Last conversation I had with him he was a bit disappointed in what little he had tested so far. Said first 3 usually around 1/2" then it would start opening up???

Any experience/comments with this caliber in a good AR platform is appreciated. Thanks all.

Respectfully,
Dennis

Look at Black Hole Weaponry barrels if you have not yet. I run 3 of them in 6x45, 1 ar15, 22" and 2 bolt builds, 22". Very accurate, never an issue with them and they did not cost over $320 to my door.
They will make pretty much what you want and yes they do shoot very accurately, mine all print sub moas no matter the build.
You cant go wrong with the 6x45, they shoot every load into small holes no matter the bullet weight in my low cost builds.
I would stay at 22" max on the AR15 frame myself.
I stick w/the 65g vmax for coyote and run 80-95g bullets for antelope.

Mike Milli of Dedicated Technology uses Shilen Select Match blanks. Had two 6x45s (and several other custom uppers) built by Mike, his work is top notch and his ARs SHOOT! Mike is a sho'nuff AR gunsmith, whereas some other AR shops do llittle more than assemble parts to a finished product...

Don't know if Mike sells chambered barrels, but might be worth a call?

Thanks for the links and info guys. I thought the 6x45 was a bit more popular and expected more info, replies, options??? Will check with BHW etc but really want a cut rifled barrel in one of the two flavors I listed? Thanks again for everyone's time.

Respectfully,
Dennis

The BHW wont be a cut rifled bbl.
I don't know of any maker that keeps them ready in stock.
There are a lot of 6x45 users, but don't seem like many on this site.
On the predator masters site there are more of them though.
My 1st 6x45 was on the ar15 & being so accurate I figured a bolt 6x45 would be even more & I was right, sold the ar15 and built 2 6x45s on Savage actions and no matter the load they just shoot so dang nice.
All mine are 1/10" twist and shoot 55-95g bullets into small groups.
DTI was making just the barrels for those who didn't want an entire AR15 build and the wait was 6 mos. He prefers you to call also to insure the build is exactly what you want. Not sure if he chambers a 6x45 though. Mike only uses Shilen barrels.

Thanks again for time and recommedations 5spd. I have a 6TCU on a 700 action with Douglas 12tw. That thing is super accurate, to the point I cannot believe its consistency. Acually haven't tried the 65Vmax in this barrel but did another 10tw CM Douglas I built and shot a bit before selling to do a stainless. This one shoots Sie 60HP, Sie 70BTHP and 70TNT's almost same POI and unless I screw up under 1/2moa. In fact I was wanting to see if letting it jump off a bag vs holding forearm like one would shooting calling etc made much difference. So shot 3 shots both ways, then screwed on my heavy Gemtech HVT and shot 3 shots each way, all with 70TNT. The 12 shots averaged .487". Hadn't shot the rifle much in the last year. If I would have shot a few groups to regain trigger feel and get all comfy with it I am betting I could have shaved a tenth or so off that!. Wished I could guarantee that I could get the TCU case design to feed in an AR platform I then wouldn't need different dies etc.lol

I am not in a big hurry to build so have some time to look, ponder and rethink exactly what I 'think' I want. :) Course with my health if I wait too long I may not have to make that wrong decision.

5spd, wasn't it you who stopped by to see Kerry & me when we were out shooting p-dogs in Shirley Basin? Had to have been 6-8years ago, already?
Anyway, I had my 6x45 there and, if I recall correctly, let you put some 70Blitzkings downrange with it. Took some 600+yds p-dogs, too.
Anyway, that was a DTECH rifle, so Mike does chamber for the 6x45 ;) In fact, it was pretty much Mike Milli's admiration for the cartridge that fueled "6x45" phenomenon over @ pm-sters. I just happened to be one of the lucky few to drink 6x45 Koolaid, early on. Sure glad that little DTECH AR made such an impression on ya! I see that you've grown quite fond of the cartridge, and rightfully so!

SD,
That Shilen Select Match that Mike chambered for my AR was a 1:10tw. It was a legit shooter with every boolit I tried, from 55-85gr. Stuck with 55s and 70s, since they didn't infringe too much on case capacity when seated @2.260". Just wasn't worth going heavier in an AR...

Have a cut rifled 1:8tw Krieger 5R 6x45AI here to shake out & expecting good things from it. Can get a heavy bullet seated proper in a bolt gun. Finally found some 95VLDs to throw from it! Hope it turns out to be half as fun as that AR was...

Good luck deciding & have fun with your new toy!
