WTB: A few pieces of 22-250 AI

I have a 22-250 AI reamer but no headspace gauge. With the way the world is today, getting one is turning out to be impossible.

I will gladly buy fired, but unsized, 22-250 AI brass so I can make a few gauges for myself. I have a bunch of standard 22-250 brass but no AI.

I’ve got plenty to trade as well.

Thank you

You may find that fired brass varies depending upon the chamber from whence it came. According to Ackley, you should be able to run your reamer in .004" short using a standard .22-250 go gage. Since new brass varies considerably, I instead use the new brass I'm going to form and chamber so that the bolt closes on it very snugly (make sure you remove the ejector if it's a spring loaded plunger type ala Rem. 700). That way, you don't have to run the bullets up in the lands to properly fireform.

Agreed.
There’s a work-around for an AI go gauge but it’s generally frowned upon so I won’t bring on the flame storm.

Bumping this back up.

Still looking for a few pieces of 22-250 AI fired brass. It can be unusable junk as long as it has at least one more sizing on it.

I am going to build an AR10 in either 22-250AI or 6 Creedmoor, I have the chamber reamers and barrels that will work for both. The 22 barrel I am using already has some miles on it so I don't mind burning it the rest of the way down.

I think I have a go gauge you are welcome to borrow…I’ll look in a bit and let you know. Just pay shipping and keep as long as you need it. I’ll pm you in a bit.

The standard 22/250 is the no go gauge. Should have a crush fit on new 250 brass. Like a HARD push on the bolt.
