WTB 700 bdl to 700 adl comversion parts "CORRECTION"

As the title says, I am looking for the necessary parts to change a 700 bdl over to a adl stock. A friend of mine has a 700 bdl 308 that his dad gave him and the stock has been irreparably broken. He has found an adl stock and is need of the necessary parts for the conversion. If you have anything available please reach out. It may take me a bit to respond s8nce I will need to check with him before making the purchase. Thanks

Just remove your spring from the bottom metal and lay it in the ADL stock with the follower attached. It’s that simple

The magazine box is taller in an ADL, but that is really the only part you’ll need. $20 or so from numrich or eBay if someone here can’t help you

You can also make a wedge/shim to get the BDL mag box high enough to function properly. All you need is the height difference.

That just reminded me, unless your ADL stock came with them, you’ll need a trigger guard and center screw. I have those in stock, and I’ll mail them to you free for the cost of shipping

Thanks for all the replies, I will check back in as soon as I know exactly what he needs. He is supposed to pick up the adl stock and let me know exactly what he has to have.

Thanks for the replies. However, either I misunderstood or he told me wrong but I have seen his replacement stock and the conversions parts are needed for an ADL to BDL conversion. I probably should have looked before I posted this.
With that said, I am looking for those parts instead.

A bit more expensive that way. Brownells sells BDL bottoms. The mag box can be vet down to the desired length with a fine tooth hacksaw, or get another one online

So if ADL stock is toast and you are going to BDL stock, then BDL bottom, box, spring and follower. Much cheaper alternative is Promag Hunter bottom metal with AICS mag. Packages are $85-$100 with mag or buy just the bottom and find your own AICS mag. A three rounder fits nice and tucked away for hunting. Now….fit testing I found a short action needs a tad of inletting and the Long Action dropped right in (to BDL stocks).Your results may vary slightly. Yes they are polymer but are done well and stronger than Tikka plastic and way better than the printed crap the guy on eBay is selling. Not well advertised but using both hamsters on the wheels in my cranium the logic went Magpul Hunter stocks let you use your BDL bottom metal, so their bottom metal should work in a BDL stock And forget Duct tape…hockey tape is the way to go always

Having shopped around for just that lately, your choices are getting lucky here or another forum in the $150 range, eBay (the monopolistic crooks...not the individual sellers, eBay) for new and used for the $175-$250 range, and I like JA Outdoors for a $235 new kit with action screws (very fair). I pieced my few together with on sale stuff and grabbed 3 Promag Hunters just to have around. I'll look in my trunk and see what I have, I really don't like using them (mag guy) and they cost too much I think. The upside is good BDL-cut stocks are often more affordable than M5-cut stocks. I'll PM you and won't bore anyone further if I have something to move along. So you'll need a BDL bottom Metal, mag box, spring, follower and action screws fyi for a list.
