WTB .17 Rem. brass

While I would call it expensive Midsouth shows stock on hand.
Also with a little work I would think you could make it from
.204R brass.

Sharps I am leaving in the for a coyote hunt this weekend and will have time when I get home to look.
I think I have a few Maybe 75 or 100 you can have for the shipping PROVIDED I CAN FIND THEM !
I will look Monday when I get home Monday I dont play with 17s anymore.

17vld I think you would be hard presed to make 17 rem out of 204r brass Difrent parent case! may be posible but tuff!

Sharps--While the .204 Ruger casing was not the parent case of the .17 Remington, the .204 Ruger casing is the child of the .222 Rem mag casing. The .222 Rem Mag casing is the parent casing of the .17 Remington, so there is a family line there.

I have formed .17 Remington brass out of both the .222 Rem mag (too much work to make .17 Rem out of it), and the .204 Ruger casings. Here's a photo of a .222 Rem Mag casing on the right and the progression of sized casings on down to .17 Remington. It takes fewer steps to form .204 Ruger brass down to .17 Remington and you have better quality brass to work with too.

If you use the .204 Ruger casings, you'll most likely wind up with brass that has neck wall thicknesses and loaded round outer neck diameters that fit very nicely in the normal .201" to .202" factory chamber necks. The .204 Ruger brass I have formed into .17 Remington has had a loaded neck OD of .198" and that's a nice fit for the .201" to .202" factory chambers.
