The ol lady an me disagree on this one. I say the only good coyote is a dead one.... so would you shoot a young pup if the opportunity presented itself?

The question deserves the answers from the perspectives I've lived in. As a worker on a game farm or other farm, kill them all. I used to work the farm with a 30 Carbine always in the rack. Ferrell dogs and cats got the same treatment as any other predator.

As a photographer working on public or private land I observe and photograph, but I'm always prepared to defend myself and rat out the predators to the farmer.

There was a pack of coyotes running around my neck of the woods harassing the one neighbors cattle and another neighbors ducks and chickens. Then one night I was outside around midnight having my last smoke of the day when a pack of four or five across the street started howling. As soon as they stopped another pack started to howl from my back yard and very close to me. That gave me the willys. Two days later I saw turkey vultures circling in the sky over the back side neighbors soy field and found a dead female and a pup coyotes that must had eaten something that didn’t agree with with their nerves system. For the following four days every time I saw vultures circling I would find another dead coyote that died from something it must had eaten. Since then, I don’t hear coyotes howling at night and the two neighbors told me that their cattle and fowl are living in peace now. If only the coyotes had dispatched the one neighbors rooster that I hear all day long.
