would you do this?

I am going to have a 7mm BR barrel made in stainless steel 24 inches long savage standard shank fully chambered.. the reason why is its the same money with a finished chamber or without a chamber.I only want to make one change to the specs and that is the neck diameter.. thats it.. so I am having a reamer made with that change. now here is my question is it safe to come into that finished chamber and enlarge the neck dimension or have the barrel unchambered and have everything else done prior seeing the smith to have the chamber cut?

You should talk to your smith first, before you do anything. I think they may have a tool that just cuts the neck. I always talk to my smith, tell him what I’d “like” and let him tell me the best way to get there.
