Worth getting a neck die, 260AI?

I'm just getting started building a 260AI with a 1:8 barrel, is it worth it getting a neck die or should I just go for a bushing FL die? I bought a lightly used barreled action and the brass fired in it has only been neck sized and shoots very well. I've never really ascribed to neck sizing for any of my calibers, but I've never owned an AI case. The current load that's shooting well is running only 2950 with no pressure signs in Lapua 260 brass, so it's not being pushed hard.

Many people, including myself , think that a .260AI is one of the best improved cases out there. Minimal trimming, a little less bolt thrust, and great inherent accuracy. What's not to like. Enjoy.:D:D

I kind of stumbled into this one, I was fairly well set on a 6.5x47L when this came across my radar. After a quick search it seems to do everything I want with and more, with less powder and barrel wear than some larger 6.5 cases. Looking forward to putting this one on the firing line real soon!

Now, next question, does Redding or any others still offer the 260AI in an off the shelf bushing die? I've done a little looking but haven't gone too far with it. I've already found a good deal on a Wilson SS mic top seater.

Here's the Redding part number: RED77623.

I've used the Redding die for years and I'm very satisfied with it. Graf's usually has one or two in stock.

Enjoy your .260AI. I'm with boltfluter on this one. I love the case. Give RL-17 a try and see if your barrel likes it. It'll get you outstanding velocity at modest pressures.

Another option would be to go with the 260 Lee collet sizing set and a 260AI Redding body die. But that will not cover your bullet seating needs.
