World Open Canceled

Many professionals including the officer who is I believe Secretary Of Health have come out and said the chance of getting the virus through the air is extremely small. It is spread by touch. So while we (not me ) obsess about masks we should if we are concerned be wearing gloves. They did a study of medical students wearing masks and they found they were much more at risk because the maska made them touch their faces much more than if they did not wear them. Why all of a sdden do my convervative friends who talk about fake news all of a sudden accept it as gospel? Quit eating meals at or from a resturant and going to social events during the fall and winter flue seasons you will be way ahead of the game.just for the record I will soon be 73 and have had 1 flue shot in my life. Had the flue 2 or 3 times but that was in my working years when I was face to face with people for 60 plus hours a week. How about some thought and common sense instead of fear.

Last time I was at the range, everyone was spread out, one or two benches apart. Bull sessions were at a distance. Haven't heard of anyone coming down with the plague. Website requested that if you were sick, don't visit. Been working so far. On the other hand, all matches, meetings and clay shoots have been cancelled.

I agree with Joe. If you don’t feel comfortable participating in the event, don’t. As a site superintendent 2 months ago it was business as usual. Now I’m also a job site pandemic safety officer. All my people have to answer 4 questions about covid everyday, wear masks all day along with gloves. They wash their hands every 2 hours and must maintain 6’ of social distance. It’s been difficult but actually very little push back because everyone knows it’s what has to be done. Shooting at a sanctioned match should be easy. If a couple hundred hard nosed construction workers can do it I’m sure 50-60 benchrest shooters can too.

I want it to go as much as anyone does, but how do you get around the max. group 25 number with 50-60 legally ? I sure wouldn't publicize it..... now if it were to go green no problem...... jim
