Woodworker who loves guns coming to the rescue

Good evening new friends,

My name is Eric and I am the owner/founder of Grain Expectations. I am currently active duty in the military and work in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). In the past year, I have gotten into woodworking and have been slowly branching out since. Recently, a long range shooting friend asked me to make a round holder for their competition shoots (15 rds @ up to 1000 yards). After making his round holder, I immediately had a few more people contact me for custom order.

My question to you all, what would you like to see available in the market in regards to incorporating woodwork into the shooting market? I am looking at making some reloading blocks along with more shooting blocks.

I look forward to working with you all and hopefully filling the gap in the shooting market. Being a shooter myself, I know how it can be difficult to get custom items for our sport.

You might be better off posting this in the forum section labeled http://forum.accurateshooter.com/forums/tools-dies-rests-reloading-components-misc.11/

I have a piece of dark walnut I've been holding on to. Can't decide what to do with it. That inlay you've done is beautiful. Ii don't know how to do that.

Thank you for what you do. Stay safe.

Jmayo,
Thank you! I built a 4.5 inch wide board out if multiple woods and then planed it down smooth. Then I cut a matching piece of Peruvian walnut and attached it to the bottom to make a 1.5 in thick block. Once that all set I smoothed up the edges and cut the holes and tray into the top with a router. The trick to the appearance is not cutting all the way through the top board. The tray is .66 in deep.

I'd love to, but I cant post there yet due to just recently joining. I figured I'd stop by here first to see if anyone had any request or suggestions on products to design and make.
