wolf primers?

Silver $$ Contributor
I was at the Indy gunshow and came across 1000 small rifle magnum primers, good deal so I bought them knowing how the primer market is now.

My question is will these work any good in my 6BR?
How much difference is there between standard and mag small rifle primers?

Thanks for the help

Kian,

Your 6 BR will love them. The magnum has a nice thick cup and will take pressure very well.

They are also a very mild primer and deliver excellent accuracy and velocity.

You did good.

Once you get to using em, you'll be looking for lots more of em :D
Only difference is the cup thickness between the magnums and the standards...

Just make sure you seat them good. If you take a good look at them the anvil sits just a little bit higher than most primers. When you seat them with a hand tool like the Lee hand primer you can feel the anvil hit the bottom of the pocket but then you need to push a little harder on the lever to feel the cup hit bottom and thus compressing the primer pellet between the anvil and the cup. Until I realized this I had a couple of fail to fire problems with Wolf primers. They make some very accurate loads.

I believe the compound is different between the SR and SRM too. Not the case for LR/LRM, but with the SR, I get some issues with hangfires with ball powder. Have had no issues with the LR with ball. YMMV, but the easy solution is get Mags, IF you can find any!!
