Wolf experts please step in and comment

My guess, emphasis on guess would be a fox coyote cross. It is way to small to be a wolf hybrid in my opinion. It is not as big as the trucks tailgate(Not counting the tail).

Ok ! I will lighten up this post ??
The first tagged Wolf's they placed in Oregon head to California , our local news gave us great coverage.
Weeks latter the Wolf's returned to Oregon ?
Some of Our Left Tipped People thought it was because our Well Fare was better....
Some thought that was Nuts !!! It's better Food.

Have a Great day

A friend of mine killed this wolf, he can't believe all the bs being said about it. It's pretty shaggy but it's spring, it's not the biggest one ever but it's not small, he says it's just a wolf and that's it.

Wolf experts heh heh heh

Maybe a wolf /coyote cross but not a fox/coyote cross. A fox can't breed with a coyote.
Let me rephrase that, a fox may give it up to a slick talking coyote but no offspring would be produced.
I did say guess.... I guess again saying small dog.. Did Montana Wildlife ever get the DNA back?

With out the wolf's there would be a lot more elk and deer
I believe that with solve in an area game animals will range much further to find relief from the pressure. Last year a moose was spotted for several days in Forsyth MT. Not your typical area for moose.

Back to the OPs question. I definitely am no wolf expert. Here in Michigan coyotes have bred with domestic dogs and the result was an animal that didn't look like a coyote. These were with labs so they were big dogs. Could it possibly be that the wolf bred with a domestic dog ? Anything's possible. Typically wolves just eat domestic dogs but it's an explanation. It's all I got !
