For those that think it's not nice to have their mistakes pointed out - it's just pure laziness, I have a dictionary on my desktop and consult it often even when "sure" about a word's spelling. If you can't be trusted to be accurate with something that you can easily verify then why should we trust you with "close enough" shooting parameters?

Anyway back to the regularly scheduled programming. MM, give some details on your rifle and what you want to use it for. This kind of info will be helpful in recommending the right scope. Kind of like buying a flat head when you needed a phillips screwdriver.

Okay Guys, sorry disrupting the apple cart about the spelling, Precision Firearms is building a 204 rugerupper, I would really like to take advantage the accuracy of this build , looking for the right scope to shoot small targets out to about 400 yards, Clarity at Max magnification is a priority, I know most of you would probably say Nightforce is the way to go but still looking for the best bang for the buck was thinking about maybe sightron siii or maybe something in Sigs Tango6 line, would like your opinion, and please, if you spellin police out there find something wrong with this, please don't reply.

The best bang for the buck is Sightron. The 3.5-10x44 is a jewel.

Tactical, target?

I know the PRS game better than the benchrest, so these are the optics I recommend for absolute tracking and glass.

The Athlon AREs and Cronus are excellent glass for the money. Probably about as good as you can get under $1500 right now. 10mil per rev, FFP, zero stop, great mag ranges, exceptional glass for price point.

Bushnell XRS is an excellent optic as well. Im currently running 3 of them. Used ones can be had for $1400ish.

It really comes down to what features you need. I NEED a zerostop, I NEED FFP, I NEED 10 mils min per rev, and I NEED a good christmas tree style reticle. Different shooting disciplines may not need any of this, and that money can be used towards better glass.
