Wisconsin Mid Range State Championship, 8/27-8/28/2016

Lots of great shooting happened in La Crosse over the weekend and I don't have much time to write about it, but I thought it was worth mentioning that my buddy Morgen "Man Boy" Dietrich dropped exactly ZERO points over 8 600-yard matches to post a ridiculous agg score of 1600-120X. To say I was impressed would be an understatement.

The bar has been raised.

Erik's too humble to post his 2nd place 1596.101 agg though, so I'll do it. His first ever 800-agg 'clean' on Saturday too.

Waylon Burbach (he's still growing up!) took the WI 'Slinger' Championship with 1595.89 making me regret even more the 9's I fired settling me in just 2 points behind him with 1593.105, good enough for High Senior, both of us shooting Palma rifles to boot.

My apologies to the F-Class crowd as I missed getting a pic of the days' aggregate scores for them. Our friend & mentor Mr Bob Mead turned in a spectacular F-Open set of scores but as my 'senior moment' left me bereft of any confidence in my memory of just what HIS agg was I'll leave it to someone else to fill in the blank.

Congrats Morgan!! I've never seen or heard of a 1600 before so it's something to be really proud of brother!! It's really something when the shooter, gun and conditions all come together to produce such an epic result. It's really difficult for someone not to make a mental error through 160 shots for record.

Matt

That's awesome! Gotta be a record of some sort. Congrats!

Pretty incredible score by Morgen and he does it on such a regular basis. Personally I think he is a mutant not of this planet!! LOL! Nice shooting either way! Eric in DL

Here's the final agg scores, some pretty big F-Class performances also. Sorry they are sideways...

We had great weather to shoot in, I was fortunate to get in the groove and keep it going. Right place at the right time.

Lacrosse always is a great place to shoot at!

Scott, those are good scores with the Palma rifle. 160 shots with it can certainly wear a person out!

One more dose of recognition to Morgan Dietrich, it's a shame NRA doesn't keep agg records for this because I doubt anybody can break this soon. I think Ryan Pierce shot 1600 once a few years ago and that's it , just the 2 of you have done this. Pretty intense Morgan ! I doubt that I see this beat in my life time!
