Wind flags?

I’m in need of some wind flags and was wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on Ezell’s and Graham’s, Which ones would everyone recommend. Thanks

I know Mike and he had great flags, my biggest complaint? Maybe they are to sensitive? No, not really. We shot one match last year that the only flags moving where his and mine, everyone else had some daisy wheel flags and they didn't start moving until the wind reached a higher speed and by that time the bullet was moving a lot. But hey what do I know? I like his flags.

Is too sensitive similar to much sex?

Mike says your flags only tell you what has already happened, so you really need to have the guys to your right and left buy mikes flags.
That's true...of any flag. Some are much closer to real time than others, though.

A little quick math for anyone interested.

A 10mph wind is moving at 14.6fps. So, the condition that just made your neighbor's flag show a switch happened one second prior to it getting to your flags and if it took a full second for his flag to respond....too late, if you just pulled the trigger.

How do you adjust them? Besides balance, why would you adjust flags?
CW
Balance is how you adjust them.
Why? The answer is long and boring but, the center of pressure must be behind the center of gravity or the flag will be unstable and "search".
As wind speed increases, so does drag. If it blows hard enough, the center of pressure can move to the center of gravity and create that instability. Daisies and pinwheels offer a lot of area and drag at the front of a flag..and catch a lot of air, and can overcome a static balance.

My flags come balanced to be used with a sail tail, for this reason. They offer a lot more area for their weight and much more linear drag at the rear of the flag.

Moving the pivot of my flag forward about 1/8th of an inch is a pretty big adjustment but will fix it in anything that I want to be shooting in, without giving up any noticeable sensitivity on the low end of wind speed.--
