Wind and group size ?

What would be normal for change in group size at 100yds.
Shot one day at about 2-3 mph wind and then 10+ mph wind on another day, every thing the same except wind.

example -6mm 60 grain at about 3300 fps and a bc of about .240.

The ballistic programs adds about .7inch wind drift. Does this directly equate to group size, or could it even be worse.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

The .7 is pretty close unless you shoot a reverse. In other words if you shot 3 shots with a 10mph right to left wind and the next two with a 10mph left to right you'd have a group that measures up to 2 inches wide.

No change in group size at all. But that's assuming that the wind is steady in both speed and direction while you shoot your group. A left to right wind will move your group to the right...but that in and of itself has nothing to do with the size of the group, only it's placement. -Rod-

If you have wind speed and directional measurement equipment setup at various distances between the rifle muzzle and the target, and if these instruments record instantaneously their observations as each round is fired, and if you have each round chronographed as it is fired, and if you record each individual bullet on paper as opposed to the group...

How difficult is it to adjust each bullet's flight and the cumulative group size for wind effect ?
