On my first PD shoot l took a couple Mod70 push feeds. One that got shot 80% of the time was
a 222R. Unfortunately the 222 gotten in a divorce, early 90s. Recently while thinking of my earliest PD trips l got an
itch for another Model70 222 in Heavy Varmint. Found a beautiful one (1969 gun, Walnut stock, cut checkering) online. The thing shoots great with a gloss Leupold fx 10power, AO target knobs. Twas also curious about how a Rem700 HV in 222 compared to my 222R Win Mod70 HV of that same era. Finally located a 700BDL from 1975 in 222Rem, also off the net. l got the 700 last week with its first visit to the range TODAY. l will say now the Rem 700HV groups are TWICE
the size of the Winchester groups. Using Same ammo, shot at the Same range, SAME NUT behind the trigger.
